The message is about:
- embracing ambiguity, risk taking, building relationships
- acknowledging other ways of knowing
- reframing assumptions
- the role of the arts in understanding the world
- acknowledging our connections in the bigger picture
- finding and trusting your compass
Our concert is an entertaining alternative to other keynote possibilities- another way of speaking that uses music to highlight, punctuate and accentuate the message.
“Her performance was sensitive and inspiring and brought hopeful acknowledgement to both the challenging realities and the deep necessities of working in ethical pedagogical relationships. Many of the conference participants identified Susan and her group’s performance as the highlight of their weekend, testifying to the reach of Susan’s music into the heart of their own professional inspirations and questions." Ronna Mosher – C.B.E. Assistant Principals’ Conference, October 2003.
One cannot hear her words without being made profoundly aware of what is missing in our educational philosophy, curriculum and methodology. Dr. Lars Field, Clinical Psychologist
Susan’s unique presentation was one of the most incredible experiences of my life! Her poignant messages are ones that must be experienced in person and in their entirety in order to understand the depth of her stories, her music and the implications surrounding them. Dana MacIntosh, Parent Advocate
